CLAIRVOYANT FUTURIST HAS LATEST ON INTENSE DRAMA SURROUNDING MITT ROMNEY’S PRESIDENTIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – LIKE THAT HE’S STILL RUNNING
FITSNews – January 2, 2007 - We’re not sure, but we’ve got a sneaking suspicion somebody in the Boston Office of the Associated Press is in super secret special love with somebody on Mitt Romney’s staff. Hell, clairvoyant Romney aide Nostradamus himself might even be the object of affection.
Either way, there’s definitely a wager to be made as to whether anybody up in Beantown is getting some strange ass in exchange for these latest two Romneybiographical wire stories.
First off, we had this article shortly before Christmas, in which Nostradamus informed us that Mitt Romney was indeed running for President and would be announcing his candidacy in early January.
Then today we have this story, in which Nostradamus informs us (again) that Mitt Romney is indeed running for President and will be announcing his candidacy in early January.
Never mind that this “news” was only slightly less surprising than the sunrise both times the Boston AP “reported” on it.
Of course, the big difference today is that Nostradamus wants us to know Romney will be “very, very respectful” of Dead President Gerald Ford in timing his announcement.
Right. Because there was a chance Romney might make his announcement at Ford’s graveside.
But Romney’s reverence for Ford isn’t the only juicy tidbit in these two puff pieces about the soon-to-be-former, flip-flopping Massachusetts Governor’s Presidential ambitions.
For example, according to the articles, did you know that:
* While saying that he wanted to consult with his family (about the announcement), Romney dismissed any thought he might be dissuaded from a campaign because of any personal concerns they might express.
* Romney was ringing a bell for the Salvation Army when he was interviewed for the first article.
* In the past, Romney has said the only thing that would prompt an immediate end to his political career would be a change in the health of his wife, who has multiple sclerosis.
* Romney made a political trip through the South in December before using personal money to fund a fact-finding trip to Japan, South Korea and China.
* Romney added to his foreign credentials in 2006 with trips to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Iraq and Afghanistan.
* Romney gained international attention in 2002 as head of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
* Romney aides believe the governor, the son of George Romney, a 1968 presidential candidate and the former governor of Michigan, can find a following as a youthful alternative to (John) McCain and a more conservative candidate than (Rudy) Giuliani.
* Romney is a former venture capitalist who made hundreds of millions of dollars at Bain Capital helping start such companies as Staples, the office-supply giant.
* At 5:00 p.m. (tomorrow), Romney will take the “lone walk” down the 31 steps of the Massachusetts Statehouse, a ceremonial departure reserved for presidents, heads of state and departing governors.
*Romney plans to base his campaign out of Massachusetts primarily for logistical reasons, rather than Michigan, his birth state and host to a key early presidential primary, or Utah, a power base in the politically important Mountain West.
*(Romney) aides say the governor relishes returning to his wife, Ann, and his Belmont home after a stretch of campaign travel.
Take your time, there’s a lot of information to digest. Which remember, is all by way of telling us (twice) something we knew already.
Oddly enough, between them the two Boston AP articles didn’t say a word about Romney’s socialized medicine program in Massachusetts (a.k.a. Hillary Care Lite) and devoted only one paragraph to Romney’s flip-flops on abortion, gay marriage and stem cell research.
Guess there wasn’t room.
