GATORS OBLITERATE HEAVILY-FAVORED BUCKEYES TO CLAIM NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

FITSNews - January 9, 2007 - They said Florida didn’t belong on the same field with undefeated Ohio State.

Turns out it was the other way around.

The Gators annihilated the Buckeyes 41-24 last night in the BCS National Championship Game, earning the school its second national championship and the SEC’s second title in four years.

It really is kind of amazing.

Just two months ago, the Gators needed a blocked field goal to escape from their home field with a one-point victory over South Carolina. Today, they humiliated a Buckeye team that had spent the entire season ranked No. 1.

We had planned on watching the game, but had promised ourselves a long time ago we were going to watch In Her Shoes and last night just seemed like the right night.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous movie. A tale of two sisters and their long-lost grandmother, all trying to come to grips with loss, love and the complicated twists of their relationships with each other. We cried like 20 times. Especially when the old professor who helped Maggie learn to read died. Oh, and for you guys, Cameron Diaz walked around half-naked for most of the movie.

“Sometimes men need help making the right choice,” one of the ladies at the old folks’ home tells Maggie.

True that, true that.
