S.C. GOVERNOR’S PRESIDENTIAL, V.P. ASPIRATIONS DISCUSSED

FITSNews - March 19, 2007 - Reporter Aaron Gould Sheinin has a front-page story discussing Gov. Mark Sanford’s future political aspirations in this morning’s edition of La Socialista (a.k.a. “The State” newspaper). The story, which recaps all of the recent nakedly self-promotional pleas for national attention the governor has been begging for receiving, also includes these two interesting quotes:

(On the idea he is running for president) Sanford said “it’s a stretch” …

And regarding the V.P. position:

It doesn’t mean that by any stretch of the imagination it’s something we would seek or want.

Hmmmm … So, aside from the fact that both statements are utterly and completely false, what else is funny about them?

Well, the governor’s nickname is “Stretch.” Which would mean we’re talking about a “stretch for stretch.”

Get it? “Stretch for stretch?”

“Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. HA!

Ha HA! Ha ha … HA! HA HA! Ha ha ha … HA! HA HA!”

Or if you prefer, “Hee hee hee hee hee hee …. hee hee hee … HEE hee.”

Or if you like, “Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo … hoo HOO!”

Or even, “Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho!”

Trust us, we are FOTFLOL right now, people. FOTFLOL.

Anyway, don’t be fooled by all the Vice Presidential Voodootalk that “Stretch” Sanfraud is throwing down. We know for a fact he is aggressively seeking the No. 2 spot on more than one potential GOP presidential ticket.

How do we know that? Cause we just spent the week in D.C., Holmes. Please.

And which potential tickets? Yeah, we’ll try and write that story this week … if we can stop laughing long enough anyway.
