SIC WILLIE IN QUARANTINE AFTER TOY RECALL, DOCTORS FEAR THE WORST

FITSNews - June 18, 2007 - FITS’ founding editor Sic Willie is in one of those NASA quarantine facilities today after a nationwide recall of Thomas the Tank Engine toys. Apparently, there is too much lead paint in the popular toy trains, and since all Sic Willie does all day is sit around and play with them he may have been exposed to danger. From the report:

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission and toy company RC2 Corp have announced a recall of 1.5 million various Thomas and Friends wooden railway toys because they could contain dangerous amounts of lead. The lead is in the paint the toys are coated with and if ingested by young children it could make them seriously ill. Consumers who have bought these toys should stop using them unless they are told otherwise by the authorities.

Oh, we forgot to mention that in addition to playing with the toys all day, Sic Willie also frequently tries to ingest them. So he’s in real trouble. Ironically, of the nearly two dozen Thomas toys on the recall list, the naughty engine Diesel is not among them. Go figure.
