JANITOR, BUS DRIVER TO SUBMIT LETTERS OF RESIGNATION NEXT?

FITSNews - July 11, 2007 - Every time we opened our mailbox yesterday it seemed there was a fresh announcement about people resigning from Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign. Campaign manager? Gone. Chief Strategist? Gone. Finance Director? Gone. And all within a period of twelve hours. As the brain drain from camp McCain wore on, we half expected to get an e-mail from the Straight Talk bus driver saying he was leaving.

What the hell happened? Wasn’t McCain the Republican frontrunner just a few short months ago?

He was, but that was before his uncompromising support for the War in Iraq cost him his moderate appeal and a failed immigration bill cost him a big chuck of the Republican base. McCain insists he’s staying in the race, but it’s pretty clear at this point that he’ll have to accept public campaign funding in order to do so (editor’s note: ouch). In other news, the International Red Cross has officially designated the stream of departures from McCain’s campaign to be a full-fledged “humanitarian refugee crisis.” True story …
