CHICAGO’S DEVIN HESTER HAS IT, PEOPLE
FITSNews - November 25, 2007 - As lifelong fans of the Indianapolis Colts are painfully aware, you just don’t kick the football to Chicago Bears’ return specialist Devin Hester.
Hester, who burned the Colts with a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLI (which our Horsies came back and won), had his skills on display again today, returning both a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the ‘Da Bears thrilling come-from-behind win over Denver.
In just a season-and-a-half, Hester now has 10 returns for touchdowns, not counting his Super Bowl romp or the 108-yard missed field goal he took back for a touchdown last year against the New York Giants. That places him just three returns shy of the NFL record of 13, which was set over the course of 14 seasons by former Redskins/Eagles star Brian Mitchell.
Interestingly enough, Hester is the only NFL player to receive a perfect “100″ quickness rating in the EA Sports Madden ‘08 video game, making him the fastest virtual player in league history in addition to being the fastest actual player in league history.
In related news, our own Sic Willie was the only blogger in America whose wit, charm and drop-dead gorgeousness were given perfect “100″ ratings in the upcoming EA Sports video game “Resident Political Badasses.” Coming to a store near you just in time for the holidays, people.
