Spartanburg, S.C. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Matt Moore today called on Democrat gubernatorial candidate Vince Sheheen to immediately end his association with pro-abortion activist Robert F. Key and apologize to South Carolinians for holding a campaign kickoff rally at Key’s home.

Key, who serves on the board of a pro-abortion advocacy group, hosted Sheheen and other Democrats on Wednesday night in Columbia. According to a news report, the foundation opposes “attempts to assign rights to fertilized eggs” and fights laws that would grant rights to the unborn. Meanwhile, according to the same report, “Sheheen’s campaign did not address the right-to-life issue.”

SCGOP Chairman Matt Moore said, “Vince Sheheen needs to immediately end his association with this pro-abortion activist and apologize to South Carolinians for his disregard for our unborn. Political leaders should lend their voices to those who have no voice, and no one has a smaller voice than an unborn child. Pro-life activists across our state are enraged at Vince Sheheen’s association with someone who is fighting against them every day.”

I don’t see these rabid anti-abortionists racing to adopt all of the unwanted children that banning abortion would bring into the world; as well as providing the love, guidance, and upbringing, they would need to help them grow into productive citizens.

Until they are doing so, perhaps they need to just shut up and stick a sock in it.
