Eight months ago FITS exclusively reported that former S.C. Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer was contemplating a 2014 gubernatorial bid.

This weekend? South Carolina’s lamestream media finally caught up …

According to The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper, Bauer is doing exactly what our sources told us he was doing eight months ago – “eyeing a third party campaign.”

“I’m hearing more and more people say they are fed up with the two-party system,” the former two-term lieutenant governor told the paper. “And they have asked me about running.”

Chalk up yet another one for our amazing network of sources …

Now … does Bauer have a snowball’s chance of upsetting “Republican” S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley or Democratic nominee Vincent Sheheen next November? Hell no. Not in a million years.

Does he have a chance to siphon off enough Republican (or GOP leaning) voters to swing the election in Sheheen’s favor, though?

That’s entirely possible …

As Bauer notes, there is a growing core of voters who are not impressed with either party’s stewardship of their resources (or protection of their liberties). If Bauer can tap into that core – and do so via substantive policy – he could very well play the role of an effective spoiler.

If he runs the same sort of glad-handing campaign he ran in the 2010 GOP gubernatorial primary, though, he’s unlikely to make a dent in the state’s popular vote.

In the 2010 general election, Haley blew a 21-point lead against Sheheen – limping across the finish line with a four-point win in what was the mother of all “Republican” wave elections (in the self-proclaimed “reddest state in the nation,” no less).

That weak showing – combined with a scandal-plagued first term in office – has many Democrats smelling an upset next November. Unfortunately for them, in Sheheen they have fielded a severely charisma-challenged candidate who has proven incapable of going where he needs to go to pick up the voters necessary to exploit Haley’s vulnerabilities.

My friend, even the P&C’s resident CU cheerleader knows the deal on the Bitter Kitties bowl ride:

It’s good to be in the ACC!

Right. Keep dreaming. You know it’s tearing you up on the inside and there is no way you believe that. Plus, if you were objective, you know you don’t belong in that game. But any way you want to rationalize it so you can sleep better at night TBG, have at it.
Best of luck vs. OSU. After Clemson loses that game, no one is gonna be saying, “Hey, so glad we backed into a BCS Bowl and lost.” You will spend the next year knowing it’s 5 in a row going on 6. Dylan Thompson already beat you as a back-up. Maybe they will throw Nosovitch at ya to give you a chance.

And it appears Taj has a lead foot as well. But once again, he is not as fast as Clowney. Good luck against OSU, Taj. HIgh Five!

Surely somebody promised this clown something. He won’t even be a close third, but he could certainly skim off the 10 or so points that would put ol’ Vinnie in the house. Them he’d pick up his payoff appointment and be back in the spotlight he loves. If this works for him we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Yes, the Lexington Video Gambling syndicate will run Andre to siphon votes from Haley to elect Sheheen. Andre is well connected to Haley’s Lexington enemies and they hate Haley that much.

Hold on, The leader of the Ring raised money for OHaley (Frazier) and publicly endorsed her and asked Gresham Barrett to dropped out of the race.
I believe Metts endorsed and contributed to OHaley!
Scum buckets McGee, Bob Peeler et all raised money for and endorsed OHaley!
Most of the Lexington Ring voted for , spoke for , campaigned for or raised money for her.

Think about this. US Rep Joe Wilson has been warming the bench in DC since he was anointed successor to Floyd Spence. He was Floyd’s aid. I have no proof, but it had to have come from a favor to someone on the House Armed Services Committee to get Capt Haley a send off to Afghanistan as an agriculture advisor. Who heads a subcommittee on the House Armed Services Committee and is from SC? Whose wife ran SC Sen Jake Knotts reelection campaign in 2012? She also said, ‘Joe, who’s the nut that hollered out, “You lie” or “You Liar”?’ With me so far? Who endorsed Katrina Shealy for SC Sen to run against SC Sen Knotts?

Voila: What all Liberal-Tarians ultimately want is to elect democrats (see Va.)
Obama has so damaged the democrat party that they’ll have years before they recover. So the left’s only chance to hold all the power the media stole for them, is to spoil (a la ross Perot) w/ this third party.
FITS would be all over this.

How appropriate. It’s been 1970 (all in the family) since the simple-minded, ignorant F*#kin’ clichés, like you, have come up with anything new.

That makes me wonder why creatives, like Springsteen or DeNiro are liberals. They actually have talent, yet you have brain-dead, dumb F*#ks. like you. making up the fold.

I’m actually giving the leftist credit, Dumb@$$ for having truly talented people in the movement among your elites.

If you could read, you’d see that I just don’t understand how creative people can be in a hate-filled, anti-freedom movement, like liberalism. Especially when it’s represented by lame and ignorant F*cks like you…who are still trying to play off All in the the Family, after all these years…

Meathead December 10, 2013 at 3:02 pm

Well, it would help if you at least had a sense of humor. That said, I guess you don’t get how Barry Goldwater was right when he warned of extremists entering the Republican camp. Liberalism, especially since the late 20th Century has fought for the rights of women, labor, and issues of the common man. Fox News and far right windbags like Beck, Bachmann, Limbaugh have seriously tarnished the Republican image for creative types. That might painting with a large brushstroke, but I feel there’s a bit of truth in my reply. Honestly, I kinda liked Huntsman, but look what we got…

Meathead December 10, 2013 at 7:49 pm

I was actually warnng up to you a bit. The later half of the 20th Century started moving more liberal, not the GOP. I guess you like the nutjob religious right, now that’s a freedom hating machine. No, Obama isn’t acting too much like a Liberal to me. He just keeps giving the big corps tax breaks and shit just like the Republicans. What’s so Socialist about that? There’s no longer a middle class thanks to big money, lobbists, and self regulated banking systems, but feel free to go apeshit after ten minutes of Rush Limbaugh. I like real Liberal of the left, not status quo bullshit artists. Seriously, lighten up. Sorry you didn’t like my reply, but you asked. Nazis aren’t anything like me or Bruce Springsteen btw, it’s asshats like Dick Cheney.

The power-mad bitch (Haley) needs to be removed from office. Her shameless corruption and self-serving actions should scream to each of us that she does not deserve another term, under any circumstances.

I voted for and spoke in her behalf to many the last time. That will not be the case this time around. I am no fan of the Sheheen political dynasty, and had planned to vote for the most interesting third-party candidate and let the chips fall where they likely would have, with Sheheen achieving a narrow win over Haley much like the one she had over him in 2010. It would have been comforting to be able to say that I did not vote for Sheheen when his own malfeasance and mismanagement began to show up.

At this point in the game, I am seriously considering voting for Sheheen. Removing Haley from office will not only remove a very much undeserved second term as Governor from her grasp, it will also hopefully cripple her chances of becoming a second Sarah Palin by making her a loser in her home state. Palin has done enough to discredit the good ideas that started out in the TEA Party with her self-serving, money generating, ventures. Haley is worse than Palin in that regard and deserves no further advancement up the political ladder.

If Sheheen is the fuckup that I expect that he will be, we can vote him out in four years. If he does good, then let him stay.

We cannot afford four more years of Haley!
